New Decoding Process Provides Unrivaled Reading Performance
Controls the waveform of the received beam to set its amplitude to
a level suitable for reading.

Acquires the received beam waveform in 10-bit gradations and
applies differentiation (shown in waveform diagram on left).
Removes the noise components—signals not relevant to the code
information such as faint printing and background patterns.

decoding]
Identifies bars and spaces from extracted edges. RPM! adjusts the
narrow/ wide ratio to eliminate the negative impact of running
print ink and reader mounting angle.
Problem: Spaces are extremely narrow
Thick print lines prevented adequate space between bars, forcing the reader to move to the next bar without obtaining the proper amplitude.
3Hi-Digital models use noise reduction and edge detection to recognise the difference between spaces and faint printing, enabling accurate decoding.
Problem: Drop in received beam intensity, bar ratio variations
When reading from an angle, previous models couldn't receive adequate beam intensity, and barcode recognition failed.
3Hi-Digital models reliably detect edges to recognise barcodes, and use RPM! to compensate for bar width ratio variations created by tilted orientations.
